Rhiana Jones is Akimel O’odham and Wášiw and grew up in the Hung-a-lel-ti community in Woodfords, California. Rhiana holds a MS degree in Plant and Environmental Science with a minor in Applied Statistics, and a BS degree in Botany. Most recently, she has worked on preservation of Indigenous Knowledge Systems of native bees in Bolivia, and conservation of Pinyon pine in the Sierra Nevadas. Previously, Rhiana had been with the Washoe Environmental Protection Department bothaas an Environmental Specialist and Environmental Director. During this time Rhianas areas of interest became Indigenous Stewardship and advocacy of Cultural fire. Rhiana is excited to be able to further these endeavors in her new role as ISNs Network Director!
